LOOKPORT / guide

How to choose a ticketing platform

Compare ticketing platforms by event fit, total fees, payment flow, audience tools and the work your team needs to do.

Start with the event, not a feature count

Write down the type of events, venues, territories and ticket offers you need to support. Distinguish essential workflows from useful extras. A reserved-seat theatre and a standing club night may need different trade-offs.

Trace the money

Ask who processes the payment, who receives it and when payouts become available. Compare platform fees with processor fees, taxes and optional services. Use your expected ticket prices and order sizes rather than a headline percentage alone.

Test the buyer and organiser journeys

Review the mobile checkout, ticket delivery and support route. Ask the organiser team to demonstrate the actual inventory, reporting, entry and refund workflows that matter to your event. Record anything that needs confirmation.

Compare evidence and limitations

Use current official documentation and a written quote for your market. A capability that is not documented should remain a question, rather than be marked absent or included. Recheck comparisons when the event scope or supplier pricing changes.
